Workplace safety : EUROPAFI's long-term commitment

Prevention of occupational risks : safety at the heart of our projects

At EUROPAFI, workplace safety is not a constraint: it is a conviction, a commitment and a shared culture. It is the guiding principle behind every project, every decision and every daily action. Because behind every machine, every process and every innovation, there are men and women — and their safety is our top priority.

The protection of our employees is part and parcel of the performance of our company. For us, establishing a culture of safety means building a sustainable, responsible and respectful working environment. It is also proof of the trust we place in our staff and the importance we attach to occupational risk prevention.

A culture of shared vigilance

The safety culture at EUROPAFI is based on a fundamental principle: collective responsibility. We believe that every employee is responsible for their own safety, but also for the safety of others. This shared vigilance is expressed through constant attention to risky situations, transparent communication and a spirit of cooperation among colleagues.

We actively encourage the sharing of information, feedback and local initiatives in order to prevent incidents before they occur. Everyone is invited to report any potential hazard, however minor, because we know that a small warning can prevent a major accident.

To put this approach into practice, several measures are in place:

  • Regular training tailored to each profession
Safety requirements vary depending on the job: machine operators, maintenance technicians, production operators, engineers, and administrative staff. Everyone receives specific training, which is regularly updated. This training covers technical skills (safe use of equipment, handling of specific products) as well as first aid and good ergonomic practices. The aim is for every employee to have the right reflexes for their job and to know how to react in a risky situation.
  • Continuous awareness of the right reflexes and risky behaviour
Safety should not be confined to training sessions: it must be practised on a daily basis. That is why we regularly run awareness campaigns, with posters and practical workshops. These initiatives serve to remind people of the essential rules, illustrate common mistakes and highlight best practices observed in the field.
  • Collaborative tools for reporting dangerous situations
We have implemented digital and physical tools to facilitate the reporting of information. An internal application allows employees to report an incident or anomaly they have observed in just a few clicks. At the same time, safety suggestion boxes are available in the workshops, encouraging everyone to share their observations or suggestions. Each report is reviewed by the QHSE (Quality, Health, Safety, Environment) teams and may result in immediate corrective action.

People at the heart of our approach

We believe that safety cannot be decided upon, it must be built over time. To achieve this, we place people at the heart of our strategy. Listening to, supporting and actively involving our employees is essential to building a safe and respectful working environment.

  • Analysis of human and organisational factors
Accidents are not only caused by technical failures: they are often linked to the organisation of work, communication or human interactions. That is why we regularly analyse these aspects: workload, clarity of instructions, flow of information, coordination between departments. This comprehensive approach enables us to identify potential weaknesses and propose concrete improvements.
  • Taking stress, mental load and fatigue into account
An employee who is tired or under a lot of pressure is more prone to errors and accidents. We therefore integrate the prevention of psychosocial risks into our safety approach. This involves working time management policies, forums for discussion on work-related stress and well-being awareness programmes. Our goal is for every employee to be able to do their job in a calm, balanced environment that is conducive to alertness.
  • Open dialogue between staff members and safety authorities
Communication is a key lever. Regular meetings are held between managers, employee representatives and safety officers to discuss any issues that arise. These discussions enable us to work together to develop appropriate and realistic solutions. We believe in collective intelligence: the best ideas often come from the floor, from those who experience situations on a daily basis.

Safety integrated from the design phase

At EUROPAFI, we believe that safety must be considered upstream, right from the design phase of a project. Anticipating risks helps to avoid them. Every new installation, every new machine and every new layout is designed to provide a safe, ergonomic and reliable working environment.

  • Prevention methods from the design phase onwards
Before any commissioning, an in-depth risk analysis is carried out. Ergonomic, acoustic, thermal and human circulation studies are conducted to identify sensitive areas. This enables us to implement appropriate preventative measures, whether in the form of collective protection, signposting or architectural improvements.
  • Workstation ergonomics
Ergonomics is a key factor in performance and safety. Our workstations are designed to reduce physical strain, limit repetitive movements and avoid awkward postures. Adjustments are made based on employee feedback, with appropriate equipment (adjustable seats, adjustable work surfaces, lightweight tools). This approach helps to reduce musculoskeletal disorders, one of the leading causes of workplace accidents in France.
  • Advanced safety technologies
We regularly invest in state-of-the-art devices to enhance safety: automatic detection systems, smart sensors, emergency stop devices, transparent guards that allow operations to be viewed without exposure. These technologies provide a two-fold guarantee: they keep operators safe while maintaining a high level of industrial efficiency.

A lasting commitment

Workplace safety at EUROPAFI is not limited to one-off actions: it is a long-term commitment that is part of a process of continuous improvement. We constantly measure, review and improve our practices to remain exemplary.

Every year, internal and external audits are conducted to verify the compliance of our processes and identify areas for improvement. Specific indicators (frequency rate, severity rate, number of near-accidents reported) are closely monitored. These data enable us to define concrete and measurable action plans.

Beyond the numbers, our commitment is based on a conviction: safety is not only a pillar of performance, it is a sign of respect for those who make our company thrive. Preserving the health, integrity and well-being of our employees means preserving our collective future.

At EUROPAFI, occupational risk prevention is a fundamental value and a strategic priority. It is expressed through shared vigilance, constant attention to human factors, anticipation from the design stage of projects and a long-term commitment.
Because safety at work is not an option but an essential condition for performance and dignity, we will continue to invest, innovate and involve our staff. Our ambition is clear: to make safety not only a regulatory requirement, but also a genuine culture, lived and shared by all.
